“European Belarus” announced a campaign of collecting of votes of Belarusians for Belarus’s joining the EU. “Reducing of visa fees, relaxing of visa requirements are the priority objectives of our civil campaign,” the authors of the statement, initiators of the civil campaign “European Belarus” emphasise, among whom are Andrei Sannikov, international coordinator of Charter’97, former deputy foreign minister of Belarus; Viktar Ivashkevich, deputy head of the Belarusian Popular Front party; Mikhail Marynich, former political prisoner and former minster of foreign economy; Mikola Statkevich, leader of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party “Narodnaya Hramada.”

The initiative was supported by leaders of the biggest youth groups: "Jeans for Freedom!", "Young Front”, civil campaign for freedom and “BPF Youth”. The young leaders together with all democratic activists have set a task to collect 1,000,000 signatures of Belarusian citizens in support of joining the European Union. Collecting of signatures will be the most active during agitation campaign to parliament elections but it has already been started. Several dozens thousand people have already gave their signature for Belarus in European Union.

The signatures will be sent to rulling structures of European Union to witness European choice of Belarusian people.
